I’m currently based in Tauranga, New Zealand, and focus on personal project work, but are always open to collaborations on mutual interest portraiture.
Photography Style
I prefer observational style photography that captures a scene candidly and undisturbed. I enjoy how a collection of images tell a story, over a single stand alone image. However, Im drawn to any image that can reflect a specific feeling or emotion when observed.
The Adventure of Film
Since moving back to film again in 2014, I now prefer to photograph almost exclusively with B&W film. Shooting film for me feels more of a creative fit, I work much more intentionally. Film limits your exposures but its more forgiving so I prefer to embrace the imperfections rather than edit them. I find the entire experience of shooting film using mechanical analogue cameras, and hand developing negatives a really cathartic process for me.
It’s a creative happy place.
